In Senate of the United States, March 23, 1818 The Committee on the Judiciary, to whom was referred a resolution of the Senate, instructing them to inquire into the expediency of "extending the provisions of the law prescribing the mode in which the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings in each state shall be authenticated, so as to take effect in every other state, to the public acts, records, and judicial proceedings of the several territories of the United States," have, according to order, had that subject under consideration, and respectfully report
