Heinrich Wuttke

Heinrich Wuttke (1818-1876) Johann Karl Heinrich Wuttke (12 February 1818, Brieg – 14 June 1876, Leipzig) was a German historian.

He studied history, philosophy and philology at the University of Breslau, obtaining his doctorate in 1829 with a dissertation on Thucydides. In 1841 he became privat-docent of history at the University of Leipzig, where from 1848 to 1876 he was a full professor of auxiliary historical sciences.
